The short version: Streamless runs entirely on your Mac. Your music, your library, and what you listen to never leave your computer. Sodium Studio has no servers that store your data, and we don't track you. The rest of this page explains the few limited cases where any data is involved at all.
Who we are
Streamless is a macOS application made by Sodium Studio, LLC ("Sodium Studio," "we," "us"), based in Massachusetts, USA. This policy explains how the Streamless app and the streamless.app website handle information.
What Streamless does not collect
Streamless is built without any backend. It does not send your personal information or your music to us or to anyone else. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your music files, ripped CDs, or imported audio.
- Your music library, playlists, ratings, or listening history.
- The contents of any iPod or device you connect.
- Analytics about how you use the app, beyond what's described below.
All of that stays on your Mac, under your control.
The limited data that is involved
Software updates. Streamless periodically checks whether a new version is available. This check connects to our update server and, like any web request, transmits standard technical information such as your IP address, the app version, and your macOS version. This is used only to deliver the correct update. No personal profile or library information is sent.
Purchases. Streamless is sold through Paddle, which acts as our authorized reseller and merchant of record. When you buy Streamless or start a trial that requires payment details, Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information to complete the transaction and handle taxes. Sodium Studio receives order and license information (such as your order, license status, and country for tax purposes) but does not receive or store your full payment card details. Paddle's handling of your information is governed by its own privacy policy, available at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
The website. The streamless.app website is hosted by Vercel and may record standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operational purposes.
Support. If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message, and we use it only to respond to you.
No tracking, no ads, no selling data
We do not use advertising, we do not sell or rent your information to anyone, and we do not use third-party tracking or profiling. Streamless has no account system, and using the app does not require you to create one.
Data retention
Because the app stores your library locally, you control that data and can delete it at any time by removing it from your Mac. Purchase and license records are retained by Paddle and by us as needed to provide your license, support, and to meet legal and tax obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Since the only personal information we hold relates to your purchase, most such requests are directed to Paddle as merchant of record, but you may contact us at any time and we will help where we can.
Children
Streamless is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
